Qualcomm have released another chipset. The company revealed that they have added another chipset to their portfolio. This time, it is the Snapdragon 712. This chipset is an upgraded version of the widely known  Snapdragon 710 and the chip is built on the 10nm process. The chip comes with a fast octa – core processor that will boost your game performance and other things.

If you compare the new chip to the SD710, you will see that the CPU’ s Kryo 360 cores of the new chip runs at 2.3GHz while the old one runs on 2.2GHz. Also, the latest chip comes with quick charger 4+ instead of the quick charge 4 that was seen on the SD710. The new chip is said to come with better Bluetooth audio thanks to the Broadcast Audio technologies and the Truewireless Stereo Plus.



The new Snapdragon 712 will keep all the specifications including the Adereno 616 GPU and the Hexagon 685 DSP. There are no changes in the modem as it still remains the Qualcomm Snapdragon X15 which has support for LTE Cat 15 downlink and cat 13 uplink and which will reach a speed of 800 megabytes per second (Mbps) and 150Mbps respectively. There will still be 20MP dual camera or 32MP single shooter with the same spectra 250 ISP in the new Snapdragon 712 chipset.

Huawei Honor Note 10 has hit the market. The shrinking of smartphone bezels has become the in-thing in recent time. Consumer behaviours have changed all of a sudden. Many more smartphone users want to watch contents on wider screens. This is the reason for the reduction of bezels in order to give way for larger smartphone screens. Even the soon-to-be-released Galaxy Note 9's display will be measuring 6.3 inches.

The new Honor Note 10 from the stables of Huawei has a huge 7-inch FHD + AMOLED screen, which makes it be closer to a tablet than a normal smartphone. However, its total footprint is smaller when compared to the Honor Note 8, kudos to its small bezels. Amazingly, its display also supports the HDR10 standard and has a huge 115% NTSC colour gamut coverage. This is fantastic.



The alluring Honor Note 10 features a high resolution of 2220 x 1080 with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone comes with the same Kirin 970 chipset that was found in the Huawei P20 and also P20 Pro.

Remarkably, Honor Note 10 also features nine layers of cooling systems that include one liquid-cooled pipe, which greatly helps heat management by 41 percent. This translates to 10 degrees Centigrade lower temperatures when the smartphone is under load. This is not bad at all if the numbers are right.

In other areas, the Honor Note 10 has a rear fingerprint sensor, a microSD slot, a 13-megapixel front snapper and a 24-megapixel and 16-megapixel dual-lens rear camera. It is fitted with 6GB or 8GB RAM, 64GB or 128GB storage space. It an enormous 5,000 mAh battery that can be charged using the Huawei’s SuperCharge technology. It also comes with the latest Android 8.1 Oreo. Clearly, this is truly more than a phone.

The Huawei Honor Note 10 comes in two colours – Midnight Black and Phantom Blue colours. Its shipment started August 1st.

Samsung recently announced that the company has just developed what it called an “unbreakable” flexible OLED panel. The OLED panel is majorly developed for smartphones. The component has been certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Underwriters Laboratories is an organisation that works for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) of the US Department of Labour

The company, in its press release, opined that the panel passed the real-time durability test which is based on military standards that were set by the US Department of Defense.

Hojung Kim, who is the General Manager at Samsung Display, said: "the fortified plastic window is especially suitable for smartphones because of its lightweight, transmissivity and hardness, which are all very similar to glass".

The phone maker is expected to later use the OLED panel for automobile consoles. It also intends to use it for other purposes too - mobile military devices, portable game consoles and tablet PCs.

During the testing by Underwriters Laboratories, there was a string of drops. The first test came with 26 drops from 1.2 meters, and it was followed by high and low-temperature tests which were between 71 degrees and -32 degrees Celsius. The OLED panel has continued to function optimally after the series of tests it underwent. There was no damage done to the front, sides or edges of the component all through the time of testing the panel.

The OLED panel later experienced a few drops. It dropped from 1.8 meters, which is still higher than what the US military ever needed from its licensing companies. The panel continues to be operational without showing any signs of damage.

Samsung claims the OLED panel is unbreakable. After passing rigorous tests, the ‘unbreakable’ tag is now affirmed.

When the OLED panel is finally put to commercial use, it may completely eliminate the problems of display breakage. Samsung is expected to make huge sales from this product. The company was made the sole supplier of OLED panels by Apple for iPhone X in 2017. Apple is expected to make more orders for all their 2018 phones.
