The LG G8 ThinQ is expected to make it debut at the upcoming Mobile World Congress ( MWC 2019 ) which will take place in Barcelona, Spain.
According to an official email from LG received by Digital Trends, the LG G8 ThinQ will include a Time - of - flight (ToF) sensor from German Tech company - infineon Technologies. Infineon is a German tech company which manufactures 3D sensors. It is also reported that the G8 ThinQ works better in ambient light than other 3D technologies.
LG has also reported that the new camera technology will have applications in AR and VR platforms, so there are a lot of expectations from AR / VR features on the G8 ThinQ that contain digital graphics overlaid onto real world images.
The previous G7 ThinQ has a camera with dual sony lMX351 sensors. with G8 ThinQ having a front facing 3D Tof camera is really a massive upgrade.
