The new Mercedes Benz X-Class V6 350D is powered by the Mercedes Benz 3.0-litre V6engine turbocharged diesel that is able to produce 190kW of power at 3400rpm and 550Nm of torque from 1400-3200rpm, with a combined fuel consumption of 9.0l/100km has revealed by the automaker.

Mercedes Benz 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged diesel engine is quite superior to the four-cylinder engine that powers the 350D.

The Mercedes Benz X-Class V6 350D comes in two variants – Progressive and Power – and two are powered by the same Mercedes-Benz 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged diesel engine.

The entry-level of the pick up which is the Progressive variant begins has a17-inch alloy wheels, keyless ignition, black bumpers, fitted silver interior accents,  fabric seats, leather steering wheel,  dual-zone climate control and touchscreen infotainment with eight-speaker stereo.

The Power variant has got 18-inch alloys, chrome front and rear bumpers, LED headlights, black or brown leather electric heated seats and touchpad-controlled infotainment and leather dashboard.

Safety remains top-notch which leads with automatic emergency braking. There is a trailer sway control and also traffic sign assist.

When it comes to design, the Mercedes Benz X-Class V6 350D looks much like the X 250D but it comes with a 70mm wider track which is for the purpose of improved stability that also expands into the interior space.

A lot of modifications have been done to the ladder-frame chassis especially for the V6 model which come reinforced and modified frame sections and larger antiroll bars front and rear.

The double-wishbone front suspension is now connected to the ladder-frame via flexible rubber mounts on the head bearing and the five-link rear axle is attached via dampers with variable response shock absorbing; at low speed they are soft and at high speed, they are quite firmer.

According to Mercedes, they say X-Class V6 is far smoother when you ride it, more capable, more powerful, and more comfortable.

  • Maximum ground clearance: 202mm (222mm at rear with optional raised suspension)

  • Maximum approach angle: 29 degrees (30 degrees with optional raised suspension)

  • Maximum breakover angle:  20.4 degrees (22 degrees with optional raised suspension)

  • Maximum side tilt angle: 49.8 degrees (49 degrees with optional raised suspension)
